House Build Diary 4 - Permits

wdbrooks2013

In our first build, the builder handled more of the permits than in the second build. There are a variety of permits and they vary by construction location. We had to pay all of this upfront and at the successful completion of the building, after you chase them down, the county will refund the bonds. It might take six weeks for them to do it. There was also a required Maryland Department of Natural Resources roadside tree permit which cost about $25 to register. If you fail to register they can fine you something like $450.

Then you move on to demolition and construction permits.
